A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Quality
Since its humble beginnings in 1965, Samsons and Company has embarked on a remarkable journey, spanning over half a century and three generations. We take immense pride in our rich legacy, which began as raw skin merchants supplying to renowned leather manufacturers and tanners in South India. Our roots in the industry run deep, and it is this foundation that has shaped us into the brand we are today.
It was during the Iraq-Iran war in the 1980s when exports from India faced uncertainty, and demand experienced a significant downturn. As our inventory of raw skins continued to accumulate, we found ourselves compelled to process them into semi-finished leather, as raw skins are perishable in nature.
In 1982, we became the preferred buyer for meat processing units, acquiring their by-product: raw skins. This unexpected turn of events prompted us to explore new avenues, propelling us from raw skins to semi-finished leather.
In 1985, we took a bold step and established our own tannery, enabling us to supply high-quality semi-finished leather to garment factories across the leather belts of South India and North India. By 1988, as the war came to an end and demand regained its momentum, we had firmly established ourself as a force to be reckoned with in the realm of finished leather for garments, shoes, and bags.
The year 1992 marked a significant turning point for us. Encouraged by the resounding success of our finished leather products, we ventured into garment manufacturing for discerning European customers, later expanding our presence to the United States. Collaborating with esteemed designers such as Diesel, Burberry, Versace, Christian Dior, and many more, we left an indelible mark on the fashion landscape, both internationally and closer to home.
Now, armed with our extensive expertise, state-of-the-art machinery, and a team of dedicated, highly qualified staff complemented by masterful artisans, Samsons and Company present MONOCHROME having set its sights on the Indian market. Since 2020, we have been bringing the same level of quality, workmanship, and attention to detail that has defined our international success to our own country.
Our commitment to excellence and passion for our craft have earned us the trust of some of the world's most esteemed brands once again. Collaborating with the likes of Armani Exchange, Marni, Harmont & Blain, Tom Tailor, and many others, we continue to push boundaries and inspire fashion enthusiasts across the globe.
As we embark on this exciting new chapter, MONOCHROME is driven not only by a desire for success but also by a deep-rooted connection to bring the best to our country. We strive to make our mark in India, bringing forth our legacy of craftsmanship and quality, while fostering a sense of pride in our heritage.
